Aibel AS is one of the leading service companies in the oil, gas and wind offshore industry with offices in Norway and Southeast Asia. The company's services range from engineering and construction to the maintenance of plants throughout their entire lifecycle. To further optimize digital workflows around non-destructive testing (NDT), Aibel will work with the DIMATE NDT Cloud Service in the future.

NDT Nordic AS, the cooperation partner of DIMATE GmbH in Norway, established the contact between the Scandinavian group and the expert for the digitalization of NDT in Bochum out of conviction. This is because the DIMATE PACS offers exactly the solution for digital, time- and location-independent test image management that Aibel was looking for.

However, for practical reasons, Aibel wanted to avoid an installation on the group's own hardware, including all the resources that this would entail. That's why they opted for the DIMATE SaaS (Software as a Service) operator model.

Full performance, little effort

With DIMATE SaaS, DIMATE offers the option of using software from a secure German cloud. This means that the operation of the software is completely in the hands of the Bochum-based company, but the use for the users is unrestricted. In the case of DIMATE SaaS, the server, archive and evaluation software are therefore located in the cloud and can be accessed from Aibel's internal network.

At Aibel, it will be the case that the RT test devices send their image data directly and securely to the DIMATE SaaS cloud. Here, they will then be available for access and evaluation - not only for Aibel's employees, but also for the company's customers, depending on approval.

"The uncomplicated entry into digital NDT via the cloud model as well as the simple and location-independent retrieval of image data were two convincing arguments for those responsible at Aibel to digitalize the NDT process with DIMATE. We are very pleased that such a large service provider in the energy industry has decided in favor of DIMATE and that we can contribute to further improving the processes around NDT," explains Peter Rosiepen, Managing Director of DIMATE GmbH.
